| Summary, etc. | RésuméEn 1882, la fanfare de Charquemont, bourg frontalier avec la Suisse, se divise en deux sociétés rivales, à la suite de l’interdiction, par le curé, d’interpréter la Marseillaise : la Philharmonique (catholique) et la Démocrate (républicaine). Cet événement illustre la façon dont les communautés villageoises se sont inscrites dans le champ politique et économique national, et les profondes mutations que cela a entraînées au sein de la commune et de la paroisse. La scission et la bipartition de l’espace public local qui se sont entretenues pendant plus d’un siècle montrent la place primordiale des associations, musicales en particulier, dans les structures sociales de ces communes. |

| Summary, etc. | In 1882 the fanfare of Clarquemont, a village on the Swiss border, split into two rival groups owing to a priest’ban on the playing of the Marseillaise : the (catholic) « Philharmonic » and the (republican) « Democrat ». This event shows the relation of village communities to national politics and economy and the resulting deep changes within the commune and the parish. The split and bipartition of the local public space that persisted for more than a century show the primordial importance of associations, more especially musical ones, in the social structures of these communes. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungIn 1882 spaltet sich die Fanfare von Charquemont, einem Dorf an der Grenze mit der Schweiz, in zwei Rivalgruppen nach dem Verbot des Pfarrers, die Marseillaise zu spielen : der (katholischen) « Philharmonique » und der (republikanischen) « Demokraten ». Dieses Ereignis zeigt in welcher Verbindung die Dorfgemeinschaften mit der Staatspolitik und -ökonomie stehen und die aus dieser Spaltung tiefgreifenden resultierenden Wechsel innerhalb der Gemeinde und der Pfarrei. Die Spaltung und Zweiteilung des lokalen öffentlichen Raums, die während mehr als ein Jahrhundert dauerten, zeigen die wesentliche Rolle der Vereine, besonders der Musikvereine in den sozialen Strukturen dieser Gemeinde. |
