| Summary, etc. | RésuméPartie six mois, durant l’hiver austral 2004, sur la base de Port-aux-Français, l’auteur a observé la vie des cinquante-cinq hivernants d’un point de vue ethnographique. La base se trouve sur l’archipel des Kerguelen, situé dans une des régions les plus inhospitalières et isolées du monde, dans le sud de l’océan Indien, sur les cinquantièmes hurlants. L’étude porte sur la vie insulaire des hivernants – leur confinement et leur isolement –, illustrée par des observations et des entretiens. Adaptant la forme d’un journal thématique, l’étude présente leurs évolutions comportementales et psychosociologiques au fil du temps. |

| Summary, etc. | During her six-month stay on the base of Port-aux-Français in the austral winter 2004 the author observed the life of the fifty-five winter residents from an ethnographic viewpoint. The base is located in the Kerguelen Archipelago, in one of the most inhospitable and remote places in the world, in southern Indian Ocean in the howling fifties. The article focusses on the life of the residents, isolation and remoteness, and is illustrated by observations and interviews. Presented in the form of a thematic diary the study shows the behavioural and psychosociological evolution with time of the winter residents. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungIm Laufe ihres sechsmonatlichen Aufenthalts auf der Basis von Port-aux-Français während dem südlichen Winter 2004 beobachtete die Autorin das Leben der fünfundfünfzig Winterbewohner von einem ethnographischen Standpunkt. Die Basis befindet sich auf dem Archipel der Kerguelen, auf einem der unwirtlichsten und entferntesten Inseln des südlichen Indischen Ozeans in den heulenden Fünfziger. Der Artikel, der mit Beobachtungen und Gesprächen illustriert wird, befasst sich mit dem Leben der Bewohner auf dem Insel, ihrer Abgeschlossenheit von der Welt und Isolation. Die Studie, die in Form eines thematischen Tagebuchs gefasst wird, zeigt die Entwicklung mit der Zeit des Verhaltens und der Psychosoziologie der Winterbewohner. |
