| Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article examine la syntaxe et la sémantique des structures coordonnées dans une perspective cognitive. Une attention particulière est accordée au codage du lien, à la connectivité thématique et structurale, aux phénomènes d’iconicité, aux degrés de prototypicalité des coordonnants, aux structures conventionnelles d’interprétation et d’attente, aux schèmes-images sous-jacents (liage, bifurcation, équilibrage, etc.). L’étude inclut une analyse statistique de and, or, but dans un corpus d’œuvres littéraires regroupant des écrits de Henry James, Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolf et James Barrie. Sont également évoquées l’émergence et la destruction des opérations de liage et de chaînage dans l’acquisition et les troubles du langage (aphasie de Broca). |

| Summary, etc. | This paper examines the syntax and semantics of coordination within the framework of cognitive grammar and cognitive semantics, with special emphasis on overt and covert forms of linkage, structural and thematic connectivity, textual cohesion, iconic word ordering (and other forms of iconicity), prototypicality, framing and image-schematicity (e.g. link-, path-, balance-schemata). The discussion includes a statistical survey of central coordinate structures in works by Henry James, Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolf and James Barrie, as a well as a discussion of the emergence or impairment of linking and chaining in child language and aphasic speech. |
