| Summary, etc. | RésuméAu milieu du xixe siècle, la ville thermale de Vichy subit d’importantes transformations en matière d’aménagement. Les classes aisées viennent de toute la France et de l’étranger pour goûter à l’ambiance de son Parc des Sources. La promenade s’impose comme un élément incontournable dans l’emploi du temps du baigneur. Pour la municipalité, le corps médical, les curistes, la population locale, la promenade recouvre différentes fonctions : distractive et romantique, elle participe au dépaysement recherché. Hygiénique et prophylactique, elle entre dans le traitement thermal. Art de vivre la cure, elle favorise la sociabilité thermale. |

Well-off classes come from all France and from abroad to enjoy its Parc des Sources. Walk is an essential element in curists’ timetable. It is considered by the town council, the medical profession, curists and the local population to have various functions : being distractive and romantic, it contributes to the desired disorientation. Being hygienic and prophylactic, it is part of the spa treatment. Being an art of living the cure, it favours sociability at the spa. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungIn der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts erfährt die Badestadt von Vichy erhebliche Umgestaltungen. Die wohlhabenden Klassen kommen dort aus ganz Frankreich und dem Ausland um die Stimmung des Parc des Sources zu geniessen. Der Spaziergang ist ein unumgängliches Element des Kurgastenzeitplanes. Für den Gemeindevorstand, die Ärzteschaft, die Kurgäste und die lokale Bevölkerung hat der Spaziergang mehrere Funktionen : sie ist unterhaltend und romantisch und trägt zu dem gesuchten Fremdheitsgefühl bei. Sie ist hygienisch und prophylaktisch und gehört daher zur Thermalbehandlung. Sie ist die Kunst, die Kur zu leben und begünstigt die Geselligkeit an der Kuranstalt. |
