Summary, etc. | RésuméÀ l’école maternelle, les principaux assistants des enseignants, les agents territoriaux spécialisés des écoles maternelles ( atsem), sont des employés communaux – dits spécialisés – dont l’histoire de la profession et le statut juridique influencent les dynamiques identitaires. L’analyse de l’activité de travail de ces agents montre combien sont difficiles les conditions d’exercice de tâches multiples auprès de « tout-petits » dans des espaces pensés pour ces enfants. Mais aussi combien le regard des autres contribue à rendre délicats les différents passages de frontières : petit/grand, hygiène/aide à l’éducation, exécutant/partenaire… |

Summary, etc. | Helpers at infant school are mostly specialized town council employees whose professional and legal status bears heavily on perceptions of identity. The close analysis of the work of these agents work shows how both the working conditions in which they carry out a large number of specific tasks in an environment designed for very small children and the way other members of the community perceive their work make the crossing of many borders (between small and large, hygiene and education, execution of tasks and full cooperation/partnership) particularly difficult. |

Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungIm Kindergarten besteht das Hilfspersonal der Erzieher hauptsächlich aus so genannten Sonderangestellten der Gemeinden ( atsem – agents territoriaux spécialisés des écoles maternelles), deren Berufsgeschichte und rechtlicher Status die Identitätsdynamik beeinflussen. Eine Analyse der Tätigkeit dieser Angestellten zeigt, wie schwierig das Erledigen der vielfältigen Aufgaben mit den « Kleinen » ist, auch in einem Raum der eigens dafür konzipiert ist. Gezeigt wird auch wie der Blick der Anderen, Überschreitungen bestimmter Grenzen erschwert (klein/groß, Hygiene/Erziehungshilfe, Autoritätsperson/Partner…) |
