L’enjeu de ces confrontations est de rehausser la réputation du vainqueur ou de ceux qui réalisent des prouesses. Les jeunes hommes se construisent ainsi une réputation intrinsèquement liée au respect des pairs. Les comportements et la rhétorique des conducteurs sont appréhendés par le biais de concepts issus de la sociologie des objets techniques : les « arènes des habiletés techniques » et l’« éthos de la virtuosité » (en référence à N. Dodier), les hybrides et cyborgs (en référence à B. Latour). |

The stake in such contests is to enhance the reputation of the winner or of those who achieve some prowess. Thus young men build up a reputation bound up with the respect paid to them by their peers. The behaviour of drivers and their rhetoric are here apprehended through concepts in the sociology of technical objects : « arenas of technical skills » and « ethos of virtuosity » (in reference to the work of N. Hauptsächlich geht es dabei darum, den Ruf des Siegers oder derjenigen, die Spitzenleistungen vollbracht haben zu verbessern. So konstruieren sich die jungen Männer ein persönliches Ansehen, das untrennbar mit dem Respekt Ebenbürtiger verbunden ist. Die Verhaltensweisen und die Rhetorik der Fahrer werden mit Hilfe von Ansätzen aus der Techniksoziologie erfasst : « Arenen technischer Fähigkeiten » und « Ethos der Virtuosität » (nach N. Dodier) oder auch « Hybriden » oder « Cyborgs » (nach B. Latour). |
