| Summary, etc. | RésuméAu sein d’une cité populaire, des mères de famille développent des stratégies pour assumer leurs rôles dans un contexte de précarité. Le chômage et l’instabilité des couples les amènent à se déclarer comme vivant seules avec leurs enfants et à percevoir à ce titre des prestations sociales. Ce sont elles qui donnent leur nom à leurs enfants, leur assurent un toit et reçoivent des ressources financières régulières. Dans ce contexte, quelle est la place des hommes pour ces femmes qui assurent toutes les fonctions parentales ? L’observation du déroulement de leur journée met en relief leur inscription dans des réseaux sociaux, leur capacité à répondre à leur obligation de mère mais aussi les contradictions avec lesquelles elles se débattent. |

Unemployment and instability of couples lead them to declare themselves as living alone with their children in order to perceive the related social security benefits. They give their family name to their children, provide them with a roof and receive regular financial allowances. In this context, what is the husband’s status for these women who take on all parental functions ? The observation of the course of a typical day highlights their inscription in the social networks, their capacity to assume their duty as mothers but also the contradictions with which they have to struggle. |

| Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungIn sozialschwachen Stadtvierteln entwickeln Mütter bestimmte Strategien um in Situationen sozialer Ungewissheit ihre Rolle behaupten zu können. Arbeitslosigkeit und instabile Beziehungen führen oft dazu, dass Paare sich als alleinerziehend ausgeben um von Sozialleistungen Gebrauch machen zu können. Es sind vor allem die Mütter, die ihren Kindern ihren Namen geben, ein Dach über dem Kopf bieten und regelmäßige Einkünfte beziehen. Welchen Platz nehmen in diesem Fall die Väter, der Kinder ein, deren Mütter alle elterlichen Funktionen erfüllen ? Die hier vorliegende Untersuchung der Tagesabläufe der Mütter analysiert ihre Eingebundenheit in soziale Netze, ihre Fähigkeit ihren Mutterpflichten nachzukommen, aber auch die Schwierigkeiten die sie zu bewältigen haben. |
