Summary, etc. | RésuméLe déjeuner norvégien, le matpakke, est un phénomène à part dans l’histoire culinaire européenne. À partir des années 1920, des experts nutritionnels norvégiens se sont ingéniés à remplacer le déjeuner chaud des élèves par du pain, du lait frais et des crudités. En 1936, on a proposé aux enfants d’apporter eux-mêmes les aliments prescrits, entraînant un changement de régime également dans les familles. Ainsi, le matpakke a instauré une discipline où l’enfant devient sujet en tant qu’acteur, mais aussi objet des prescriptions du gouvernement. Aujourd’hui encore, il demeure un marqueur d’identité nationale et un repère moral. |

Summary, etc. | The Norwegian home-made lunch, matpakka, is a special case in European culinary history. During the 1920s persistent Norwegian nutrition experts succeeded in changing the school meal from cooked food to bread, fresh milk and raw vegetables. In 1936 one proposed that the children should bring the prescribed food from home. This brought on a change of fare also in the households. The matpakke hence became a large-scale disciplinal project where children at the same time were the objects of governmental prescriptions and the subjects carrying them out. Still today it is a marker of national identity and a moral anchorage. |

Summary, etc. | ZusammenfassungDas norwegische Frühstück – matpakke – ist ein besonderes Phänomen in der kulinarischen Geschichte Europas. Seit den 1920er Jahren haben sich Ernährungsexperten dafür eingesetzt, das warme Frühstück durch Brot, frische Milch und Rohkost zu ersetzen. 1936 wurde den Schülern vorgeschlagen, die empfohlenen Lebensmittel mitzubringen um so auch in den Familien eine Veränderung der Essgewohnheiten zu erreichen. So wurde matpakke zu einer Art Disziplin, die die Kinder gleichzeitig zu handelnden Subjekten aber auch zu Objekten der Regierungsvorschriften machte. Noch heute ist matpakke Bestandteil der nationalen Identität und moralischer Fixpunkt. |
