Si cette revendication est relativement nouvelle dans notre pays, l’aspiration des personnes handicapées à l’amour et à la vie conjugale ne l’est évidemment pas, et les réponses apportées par la société à cette aspiration ont varié selon les époques.Cet article, qui se situe au croisement de l’histoire du handicap, de l’histoire des femmes, de l’histoire du corps et de l’histoire du sentiment amoureux, s’articule autour des Réflexions d’une jeune aveugle du xixe siècle, Thérèse-Adèle Husson.Il y est question des réponses apportées par les auteurs, aveugles et clairvoyants, du xixe et du début du xxe siècle, à l’aspiration des aveugles au mariage et à la vie de famille. |
