L'auteur peut ainsi remettre radicalement en cause la théorie évolutionniste et diffusionniste du sport, centrée sur l'Angleterre comme « foyer de civilisation », que Norbert Elias a imposée comme paradigme. |

The author is thus able to criticize radically the evolutionnist-diffusionnist theory of sport, held by Norbert Elias as an undisputable paradigm, which presents England as a unique source of civilization. |

| Summary, etc. | Amerikanisches Rodeo – Sport, Stierkampf oder Ausdruck von Transformation?Dieser Artikel analysiert am Beispiel des amerikanischen Rodeos die Komplexität von Einflussnahme und Neustrukturierung der modernen Welt, die maßgeblich durch die Einführung von sportlichen Großveranstaltungen geprägt ist. Eine besondere Bedeutung kommt den europäischen Imperialmächten zu, die sportlich nicht nur verfeindet waren, sondern sich ebenso gegenseitig beeinflussten. Dem Autor gelingt es mit seiner Argumentation, das von Norbert Elias aufgestellte Paradigma von „England als Wiege der Zivilisation“ und die hinter ihm stehende evolutionistische Theorie der Verbreitung des Sports zu wiederlegen. |
