Malgré les différences historiques et confessionnelles qui les séparent, une convergence apparaît entre le réformateur allemand et l’auteur des Pensées dans la façon de distinguer soigneusement le plan de la justice humaine et celui de la justice divine, et d’instaurer un rapport différencié entre le pôle de la vie dans le monde et le pôle de la vie devant Dieu. Le fait que les autorités soient ultimement référées à Dieu, loin d’opérer une justification théologique du pouvoir politique, en marque le caractère relatif et limité. |
