| Summary, etc. | À partir de données ethnographiques recueillies auprès de musulmans d’origine algérienne habitant une banlieue située au nord‑ouest de Paris, cet article étudie les logiques de choix du conjoint et les liens qu’entretiennent les cérémonies de mariage avec le « pays », ou bled en Algérie. Ces modalités sont d’autant plus remarquables que la législation récente s’emploie à combattre l’augmentation présumée des mariages blancs, gris et forcés, supposément contractés avec des étrangers indésirables. Alors que ces schémas de mariage « transnational » ou « traditionnel » peuvent être interprétés comme une réaction aux mœurs laïques de la France, je souhaite montrer en quoi une Algérie imaginaire peut constituer un répertoire bien plus complexe et toujours vivant d’idéaux socioculturels, politiques, parentaux, sexuels et religieux pour de jeunes français musulmans. |

| Summary, etc. | The “bled en banlieue”. Muslim Marriage and State Regulation in France Drawing on ethnographic data with Muslims of Algerian origin who live in a northwestern Parisian suburb, this paper examines marriage preferences for partners and celebrations related to the Bled, or Algerian “home country.” These arrangements are notable given the state’s recent legislation to combat a putative rise in forced and fake marriages, presumably with undesired foreign nationals. While on the surface my interlocutors’ transnational “traditional” marriage patterns might be interpreted as a reaction to the mores of secular France, I aim to show how an imagined Algeria is a repository of a more complex range of sociocultural, political, kinship, sexual and religiously infused ideals. I argue that marriage partners and celebrations that invoke the Bled can be understood as an embodied reclaiming of scrutinized sociocultural values. |

| Summary, etc. | A partir de un trabajo etnográfico sobre las comunidades musulmanas de origen argelino que viven en un suburbio del noroeste de Paris, este artículo estudia los procesos de elección del cónyuge y el papel fundamental que juega el bled ("el país", i.e. Argelia) en los vínculos que se refuerzan y se crean en las ceremonias de boda. Estas ceremonias son tan relevantes que, durante los últimos años, la legislación francesa se ha esforzado en combatir el supuesto aumento de matrimonios blancos, grises y forzados, ‘teóricamente’ contratados (o pactados) con extranjeros 'indeseables'. Aunque estos matrimonios 'transnacionales' y 'tradicionales' pueden, en una primera lectura, ser interpretados como una reacción a las costumbres laicas de Francia, en este artículo pretendo demostrar que la referencia constante a una Argelia imaginaria constituye un repertorio mucho más complejo y vivo de ideales socioculturales, políticos, parentales, sexuales y religiosos de los jóvenes franceses musulmanes. En este contexto, sugiero que los matrimonios transnacionales en los que el Bled juega un papel fundamental pueden ser interpretados como practicas que ponen en juego un sistema complejo de valores socioculturales. |

| Summary, etc. | Auf Grundlage von ethnographischen Daten, die unter Muslimen algerischer Herkunft, die in einem Vorort im Nordwesten von Paris leben, gesammelt wurden, analysiert dieser Artikel die Logiken der Partnerwahl und die Verbindungen, die die Hochzeitszeremonien zum Herkunftsland, dem sogenannten „Bled” in Algerien unterhalten. Die Modalitäten sind umso bemerkenswerter, als dass die aktuelle Gesetzgebung darauf abzielt, den vermeintlichen Anstieg von Schein‑ und Zwangshochzeiten, die angeblich mit unerwünschten Ausländern abgeschlossen werden, zu begrenzen. Während die Schemata dieser „transnationalen” oder „traditionellen” Hochzeiten als Reaktion auf die laizistischen Sitten in Frankreich interpretiert werden können, möchte ich aufzeigen, inwiefern ein imaginäres Algerien ein viel komplexeres Repertoire darstellt und noch immer mit soziokulturellen, politischen, elterlichen, sexuellen und religiösen Idealen von den jungen muslimischen Franzosen verbunden wird. |
