Summary, etc. | Invented in 1887, Esperanto spread across borders thanks to a transnational network. The Esperanto movement then worked in particular to introduce the teaching of the language. To achieve this, supporters of the cause of Esperanto in schools tried to rely on the collective actors of educational internationalism in order to legitimize their project. The nature and duration of the involvement of these organizations differed depending on their status, their field of expertise, and the profile of their members. However, their respective commitment to Esperanto bears witness, to varying degrees, to the limits facing the promotion of this cause internationally, due to the mistrust aroused by this language and by virtue of the political, ideological, and cultural issues at stake in the field of educational internationalism. |

Summary, etc. | Inventé en 1887, l’espéranto se diffuse à travers les frontières grâce à un réseau transnational. Le mouvement espérantiste œuvre alors notamment à l’introduction d’un enseignement de cette langue. Pour ce faire, les partisans de la cause de l’espéranto à l’école tentent de s’appuyer sur des acteurs collectifs de l’internationalisme éducatif afin de légitimer leur projet. La nature et la durée de l’investissement de ces organismes sollicités à cet égard se distinguent en fonction de leur statut, de leur domaine d’expertise et du profil de leurs membres. Toutefois, leur engagement respectif autour de l’espéranto témoigne, à des degrés divers, des limites auxquelles se voit confrontée la promotion de cette cause à l’international, en raison de la méfiance que suscite cet idiome et en vertu des enjeux politiques, idéologiques et culturels se jouant sur le terrain de l’internationalisme éducatif. |
