| Summary, etc. | La formation professionnelle suisse se développe, dans sa forme institutionnelle actuelle, à partir de la deuxième moitié du XIXe siècle, poursuivant deux finalités principales : l’une économique, assurer une main-d’œuvre qualifiée pour les entreprises, et l’autre sociale, œuvrer pour une stabilisation socio-économique de la société. Après avoir décrit les étapes de cette institutionnalisation, l’article analyse la finalité sociale qui lui avait été attribuée, en relevant la volonté d’amélioration des conditions de vie des classes populaires mais aussi une logique de reproduction socio-professionnelle. Cette dernière, progressivement, va laisser place à une volonté de promotion de la mobilité socio-professionnelle. |

| Summary, etc. | The Swiss Vocational Education and Training (VET) system developed progressively during the second half of the XIX century, following two mains aims : An economic aim : securing a qualified workforce for Swiss companies, and a social aim : the social-political stabilization of society. After a description of the most important steps in the process of institutionalization of VET, the article will analyze its social aims, highlighting an improvement in the living conditions of the lowest classes but also a logic of social reproduction. The social aims developed from a logic of social reproduction to today’s logic of social mobility. |

| Summary, etc. | La formación profesional suiza se desarrolla a partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX en su forma institucional actual, con dos finalidades principales : una económica, garantizar una mano de obra calificada para las empresas, y la otra social, actuar para una estabilización socioeconómica de la sociedad. Después de haber descripto las etapas de esta institucionalización, el artículo analiza la finalidad social que le había sido atribuida, relevando la voluntad de mejora de las condiciones de vida de las clases populares pero también una lógica de reproducción socioprofesional. Esta última, progresivamente, hará lugar a una voluntad de promoción de la movilidad socioprofesional. |

| Summary, etc. | Die ersten Entwicklungsschritte des schweizerischen Berufsbildungssystems in seiner heutigen Form finden gegen Ende des XIX Jahrhunderts und Anfang des XX Jahrhunderts statt. Diese Entwicklung zeichnet sich durch zwei verschieden Zielsetzungen aus. Eine wirtschaftlichen Zielsetzung : qualifizierte Fachkräfte für die Wirtschaft auszubilden, aber auch eine soziale Zielsetzung : zu einer Stabilisierung der Gesellschaft beizutragen. Nach einer kurzen historischen Darstellung der wichtigsten Etappen der Institutionalisierung der Berufsbildung in der Schweiz analysiert der Artikel die soziale Zielsetzung. Es wird hervorgehoben, dass das Ziel der gesellschaftlichen Stabilisierung einerseits mittels einer Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen der untersten Klassen, anderseits mittels einer Sicherstellung der sozialen Reproduktion erreicht werden soll. Am Schluss wird der Artikel die Veränderung der sozialen Reproduktionslogik ab 1900 hin zur heutigen Mobilitätslogik beschreiben. |
