Summary, etc. | Cet article aborde la question des inégalités de carrière des agent·es d’entretien qui occupent une position peu qualifiée au sein des organisations humanitaires internationales au Cameroun. Il soulève une problématique novatrice qui s’intéresse à l’analyse de ces inégalités dans un champ qui pourtant prône l’égalité, l’équité et le développement humain. Mobilisant des théories éthiques du care et de la segmentation du marché du travail, il montre comment ces agent·es, en particulier les femmes, sont victimes de fortes inégalités de carrière, à la fois en raison des normes genrées associées au travail de soin, ainsi que du caractère hybride de leur métier : entre un travail domestique et un service d’entretien des bureaux. Cette hybridation s’accompagne de limitations d’accès à la formation et à la mobilité professionnelle, elles-mêmes adossées au faible niveau d’éducation de ce personnel d’entretien dans un secteur humanitaire devenu très professionnalisé. |

Summary, etc. | This article addresses the issue of career inequalities of low-skilled maintenance workers in international humanitarian organisations in Cameroon. It raises an innovative problematic, focusing on the analysis of these inequalities in a field which nevertheless advocates equality, equity, and human development. Drawing on ethical theories of care and labour market segmentation, it shows how these workers, particularly women, are victims of major career inequalities, both because of the gendered norms associated with care work as well as the hybrid nature of their profession : between domestic work and office maintenance. This hybridity is accompanied by limitations on access to training and professional mobility. These limitations are themselves due to the low level of education of these cleaning staff in a humanitarian sector that has become highly professionalised. |

Summary, etc. | Este artículo aborda la cuestión de las desigualdades en la carrera de las/os agentes de limpieza que ocupan una posición poco calificada en las organizaciones humanitarias internacionales en Camerún. Plantea una problemática innovadora, al examinar el análisis de tales desigualdades en un espacio que sin embargo aboga por la igualdad, la equidad y el desarrollo humano. Basándose en las teorías éticas de los cuidados y de la segmentación del mercado de trabajo, muestra cómo estas/os trabajadoras/es, en particular las mujeres, son víctimas de importantes desigualdades de carrera, tanto por las normas de género asociadas al trabajo de cuidados, como por la naturaleza híbrida de su profesión : entre el trabajo doméstico y el mantenimiento de oficinas. Este carácter híbrido limita el acceso a la formación y la movilidad profesional, lo que a su vez está relacionado con el bajo nivel de formación de este personal de limpieza en un sector humanitario altamente profesionalizado. |

Summary, etc. | Dieser Artikel befasst sich mit der Frage der ungleichen Berufschancen von Reinigungskräften, die in gering qualifizierten Positionen bei internationalen humanitären Organisationen in Kamerun arbeiten. Er behandelt eine neue Problematik, nämlich die Analyse solcher Ungleichheiten in einem beruflichen Umfeld, in dem Gleichheit, Gerechtigkeit und die persönliche Entfaltung im Vordergrund stehen. Unter Verwendung ethischer Theorien im Care-Bereich und der Segmentierung des Arbeitsmarktes zeigt er, wie diese Arbeitskräfte, vor allem die Frauen, in ihrer Karriere stark benachteiligt sind, sowohl aufgrund der geschlechtsspezifischen Normen, die mit der Putztätigkeit verbunden sind, als auch aufgrund des dualen Charakters ihrer Tätigkeit – eigener Haushalt und Büroreinigung. Diese Dualität führt zu Einschränkungen beim Zugang zur Ausbildung und beruflichen Mobilität, was wiederum auf das niedrige Bildungsniveau der Reinigungskräfte in einem hoch professionellen humanitären Sektor zurückzuführen ist. |
