Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The research literature considers intra-family succession to be successful when the longevity of the business and the harmony within the family are maintained. Succession has attracted considerable interest in the family business literature. This critical phase in the life of the firm may have important implications for understanding the role of family involvement in business model (BM) change. Based on a multiple case study, this article proposes to explore the process of change of the BM during the transmission between two generations in the context of the Moroccan family firm. This research shows that by creating strong tensions between continuity and change, generational renewal is a factor that favors the reinvention and adaptation of the BM in the context of family businesses. Indeed, the arrival of successors in the firm favors the change of the BM insofar as their skills and experiences can interact and combine with the existing heritage of the firm to promote new logics of creation, proposition and capture of value in order to reorient the firm towards increased performance. |
