| Summary, etc. | Les fusions d’entreprises sont des événements qui ont marqué l’industrie de l’énergie française – et européenne – durant la décennie 2000. Ces opérations financières et industrielles font l’objet d’une régulation de la part de l’État français et de la Commission européenne. Étudier le processus que suit un projet de fusion, montrera que ces deux institutions structurent – par la négative – l’organisation du secteur de l’énergie. Cet encadrement prend place dans des contextes et repose sur des processus très différents, l’un politisé et l’autre technicisé. Ces leviers procurent des ressources différentes, qui donnent aux acteurs étatiques de l’influence sur les projets de fusion. |

| Summary, etc. | Restructuring the energy industry : the regulation of mergers between Paris and BrusselsThis article studies the process undergone by merger projects. Firms’ mergers deeply changed the French and European energy industry during the 2000s. These operations served the interests of dominant economic actors, but they were also affected by a set of representations and constraints specific to the French State and the European Commission. These two organizations have thereby negatively structured the energy industry. Their respective regulation takes place in very different contexts and relies upon different levers. State actors in particular rely upon a specific kind of resource which determines their influence over the process of authorizing mergers. |
