| Summary, etc. | La mise sur agenda des troubles musculo-squelettiques (TMS) des agents en abattoir est concomitante avec la réflexion sur la transformation de l’action publique. Cet article entend démontrer en quoi les problématiques de santé au travail sont des révélateurs de la mise en faillite de l’action étatique. Pour ce faire, il analyse les actions mises en œuvre aux niveaux local et national dans le contexte de la mise sur agenda de la santé au travail et entend montrer comment les régulations liées à la santé au travail des inspecteurs en abattoir sont intriquées dans la politique de la surveillance sanitaire des aliments (sa mise en œuvre, sa légitimité, son destin) et participent ce faisant à la redéfinition de la mission de service public. L’article montre à partir de quelles entrées, de quelles justifications, de quelles méthodes et de quels rapports de force s’opérationnalise le rétrécissement du périmètre d’intervention de l’État, ou tout au moins son déplacement. |

| Summary, etc. | The placing of musculo-skeletal disorders (MSDs) for slaughterhouse inspectors on the political agenda is concomitant with reflections over the transformation of public action. This article aims at demonstrating how occupational health issues reveal and underline the “bankruptcy” of state action. It analyses actions implemented at local and national level in a context of a resetting of the occupational health agenda and sets out to show how the regulations related to the health at work of slaughterhouse inspectors have been integrated into food safety surveillance policy i.e. its implementation, legitimacy, and future prospects. In so doing, this reform has participated in a redefinition of the public service mission – a shift demonstrated by focusing upon the justifications, methods and powering deployed by the actors involved. |
