| Summary, etc. | Dans les derniers siècles du Moyen Âge, l’établissement des contrats constitue un domaine d’action des « autorités politiques », ecclésiastiques et laïques, en premier lieu du roi. Cette production documentaire fait l’objet d’une transaction marchande entre le notaire et son client et il revient à l’autorité de contrôler cette transaction via des tarifs. La construction d’un « marché économique » entre l’ensemble de ces acteurs sera au cœur de la réflexion : cet article vise à comprendre la construction des tarifs et à éclairer les transactions entre le notaire et son client, et le poids de la concurrence (entre notaires d’une même autorité ou entre autorités distinctes) dans ce marché. |

| Summary, etc. | In the latter centuries of the Middle Ages, establishing contracts was an area of action belonging to ecclesiastical and secular “political authorities,” first and foremost the king. The production of such documents was the object of commercial transactions between notaries and clients, and the authority controlled these transactions by setting rates. Central to the analysis is the construction of an “economic market” between all these actors : this article aims to understand the construction of rates and to shed light on transactions between notaries and clients and the extent of competition in this market (between notaries under the same authority and between separate authorities). |
