Sur les milliers d’étudiants qui partent à l’étranger, les États-Unis en captent 20 %. Sur les 31 000 doctorats dans les disciplines scientifiques délivrées en 2009, plus de 40 % l’ont été à des non-Américains. Et si le nombre d’étudiants allant poursuivre leur cursus aux États-Unis augmente, la proportion de ceux qui souhaitent s’y installer augmente également renforçant d’autant l’excellence américaine dans le domaine de la recherche. Par ailleurs, une nouvelle loi facilitant l’installation d’entrepreneurs aux États-Unis est en préparation. |

| Summary, etc. | Because of their excellent position in the Shanghai and the Times Higher Education rankings, American Universities keeping a strong power of attraction for students across the world. 20 % of students studying abroad attend American Universities. Of the 31 000 who were awarded doctorate degrees in 2008 in Science and Engineering, more than 40 % were temporary visa holders. While the percentage of foreigners among students in the United States is growing, the share of those who plan to stay is growing as well, reinforcing the excellence in science and engineering of this country. To continue to attract entrepreneurs, a new bill is in preparation to make it easier to go study in the United States. |
