| Summary, etc. | Nous cherchons à explorer les mutations sociodémographiques des territoires ruraux dans les champs d’influence urbaine au Québec et les implications pour la gouvernance de ces territoires. Le cas québécois est situé dans le contexte nord-américain. Un schéma conceptuel est présenté mettant en évidence l’hétérogénéité des territoires concernés, tant par leurs activités économiques que par les mutations sociodémographiques. Les valeurs des segments de populations de ces territoires ruraux ne sont pas simples parce qu’il n’y a pas de relation linéaire entre valeurs et les différentes strates sociodémographiques. C’est dans ce contexte d’hétérogénéité que la problématique de la gouvernance de ces territoires est abordée, en ciblant l’espace rural et agricole et leur multifonctionnalité comme un outil qui contribue à la réduction des « incompatibilités » entre différents intérêts qui s’affirment localement. |

| Summary, etc. | Socio-demographic transformations in rural areas within urban fields of influence in Quebec and North America: The integration of new populations, local culture and implications for the governance of these territoriesThe aim of this paper is to explore the socio-demographic transformations of rural areas in the urban fields of influence in Quebec, as well as their implications for the governance of these territories. The situation in Quebec is placed in the North American context. A conceptual framework is presented that underscores the heterogeneity of these rural territories, both in terms of their basic economic activities and their socio-demographic transformations. The values of the different population segments of these rural territories are not simple because there is no linear relationship between values and socio-demographic segments. It is in this context of heterogeneity that the issue of governance of these territories is broached, focussing on rural and agricultural spaces in these territories and their multi-functionality as a tool that can contribute to a reduction in the ‘incompatibilities’ between the different segments of interest. |
