| Summary, etc. | À Grenoble peut-être plus qu’ailleurs, le phénomène technopolitain dessine une vision, partagée par un certain nombre d’acteurs de la ville, de la place de l’innovation et plus généralement de l’économie de la connaissance dans le développement territorial. Cette économie est organisée en clusters clairement identifiés dont les performances ne manquent pas d’être célébrées au sein des différents classements organisés par la presse spécialisée comme par les institutions internationales. Cependant, la capitale des Alpes semble aujourd’hui économiquement et socialement fragilisée et de nombreux signaux inquiétants viennent écorner l’image du désormais célèbre « modèle grenoblois ». Métropoliser la technopole apparaît comme l’une des voies possibles pour sortir d’une telle impasse. En effet, malgré le statut de métropole acquis institutionnellement en janvier 2015 dans le cadre de la loi MAPTAM, Grenoble n’affiche pas encore tous les attributs économiques et sociopolitiques d’une métropole qui supposerait notamment de mieux ancrer ses clusters dans la société urbaine locale, mais aussi de diversifier son économie et de renouveler en profondeur les modes de gouvernance à l’œuvre.© 2016 Lavoisier, Paris. | Summary, etc. | In Grenoble, perhaps more than anywhere else, the technopolitan phenomenon has given rise to a vision of the role of innovation and of the knowledge economy in territorial development which is shared by a number of stakeholders. This economy is organized in clearly identified clusters of which the performances are celebrated in the various rankings produced by the media and international institutions. However, the capital of the Alps appears to be weakened from an economic and social perspective: a number of worrying signs appear to be compromising the image of the “Grenoble model”. One of the ways to address this problem could be to metropolise the technopolis. Despite being awarded the metropolis status in January 2015 following the MAPTAM legislation, Grenoble does not yet have all the economic and sociopolitical attributes of a metropolis. In particular, it has not yet been able to embed its clusters in the local urban society, nor has it diversified its economy or renewed its modes of governance.© 2016 Lavoisier, Paris.
