| Summary, etc. | Les territoires agri-urbains (TAU) constituent une catégorie d’action publique (désignant à la fois certains espaces et les formes de gouvernance qui y sont établies) labellisée par la région Île-de-France. À partir de notre regard de sociologue et de politologue intéressés par les enjeux paysagers, nous interrogeons l’expérience de ces démarches de développement territorial à l’aune des concepts d’urbain et de rural. Après être revenus sur les acceptions fluctuantes de ces catégories et les débats auxquels elles ont donné lieu en sciences sociales, nous analysons les marqueurs de l’urbain et du rural mis en œuvre et mis en scène par les TAU et la manière dont les relations urbain-rural y sont activées. La construction même de la dénomination « agri-urbain » témoigne d’un effacement des références au rural au profit d’une focalisation sur l’agricole, réintégré comme dimension constitutive d’une certaine urbanité et mise en exergue d’une construction territoriale qui revendique sa spécificité. |

| Summary, etc. | The agri-urban territories (TAU) constitute a category of public action (designating both certain spaces and the forms of governance that are established there) labelled by the Île-de-France region. From our perspective as sociologist and political scientist interested in landscape issues, we question the experience of these territorial development approaches in the light of the concepts of urban and rural. After reviewing the fluctuating meanings of these categories and the debates to which they have given rise in the social sciences, we analyse the markers of the urban and the rural implemented and staged by the TAUs and the way in which the urban-rural relationship is activated. The very construction of the term’agri-urban’ testifies to the erasure of references to the rural in favour of a focus on the agricultural, reintegrated as a constitutive dimension of a certain urbanity and highlighting a territorial construction that claims its specificity. |
