| Summary, etc. | Observing the evolution of social work and its gradual professionalization, we offer a reflection on some of the challenges and show the risk of the loss of values in the fulfillment of our missions. While vocation and commitment have not completely vanished yet, they risk being booted out by new work logics. These technocratic logics of rationalization could, indeed, through a strict and de-idealized application, lead to harmful and dehumanizing practices. In response, we invoke the political (and not policy), as a space for debate and discussion of our missions and their implementation. |

| Summary, etc. | Observant l’évolution du travail social et sa professionnalisation progressive, nous proposons une réflexion pour en décrire quelques enjeux et montrer le risque de la perte des idéaux dans l’accomplissement de nos missions. Si la vocation et l’engagement n’ont pas complètement disparu, ils risquent d’être évacués par de nouvelles logiques de travail. Ces logiques technocratiques de rationalisation pourraient, en effet, par une application stricte et désidéalisée, induire des pratiques délétères et déshumanisantes. En réponse, nous convoquons le politique (et non pas la politique), comme lieu de débat de nos missions et de leur mise en œuvre. |
