| Summary, etc. | Starting from a semantic and conceptual analysis of the notion of “emprise”, and with an interdisciplinary outlook, I propose a reflection on the exercise of absolute power over collective and individual plans. My argument supports the hypothesis of a common foundational core that emerges as individuals and communities are born, articulated around the dynamics of “emprise”, and the other hypothesis of the protective role taken on by the fantasy of helplessness, as expressed in these dynamics, whose extreme manifestations are found in totalitarianism. |
