Summary, etc. Relations between the People’s Republic of China and Egypt have significantly developed since the early 2010s. Building on an already solid foundation, Presidents Xi and al-Sissi sealed an “integral strategic partnership” between their two countries at the end of 2014. This article aims at providing an overview of this rapid evolution and highlights the multiplicity of areas in which it is taking place. It notably sheds light on cooperation in bilateral and multilateral fields, particularly in the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative launched by Xi Jinping, and its multiple geopolitical dimensions. The article shows how China and Egypt reinforce each other in their common search for greater room for maneuver in a world order that they consider overly Western-centered. Both countries strive towards the creation of an increasingly multi-centered world.
