520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | In a context characterized by an unthinking of social classes within sociological analyses of aging, this article aims to make a contribution to the understanding of the aging process of the upper classes. On the basis of a qualitative study, this article highlights how three dispositions characterize the relationship that elderly people from the bourgeoisie have with their old age. By disrupting significant oppositions produced by the disciplinary field of gerontology, these models of old age can then be understood as the expression of a “desire for the neutral” (Barthes 1990) and the search for a third term. |
