| Summary, etc. | Le statut des femmes fait l’objet de débats et de représentations géopolitiques, mais les mouvements féministes sont le plus souvent relégués aux marges de la géopolitique. La mise à l’écart des revendications portées par les féministes concernant l’universalité des droits des êtres humains a eu de grandes conséquences sur l’évolution d’événements géopolitiques importants, comme la mise en place du régime politique de l’Algérie indépendante ou celle d’un pouvoir totalitaire religieux en Iran. En France, les mouvements féministes soulèvent aujourd’hui des débats qui rejoignent pour partie la question postcoloniale. Le fait que le rôle politique des mouvements féministes soit partout minimisé contribue à nourrir la représentation géopolitique de la domination occidentale sur le monde. |

| Summary, etc. | Feminism and Geopolitics Although the issue of women status led to numerous debates and geopolitical perceptions, feminist movements are often relegated to the margins of geopolitical analyses. Yet the dismissal of feminists claims for universal rights for all human beings had tremendous consequences on major geopolitical events, such as the rise of the political regime in Algeria after independence or the totalitarian religious regime in Iran. In France, feminist movements tend to converge toward the post-colonial debate. The political role of feminist movement is often underestimated, which tends to feed the perception of a occidental dominance over the world. |
