| Summary, etc. | Originaires de Franconie, les Schwarzenberg jouent un rôle croissant au XVIe siècle au service de plusieurs princes d’Empire et des Habsbourg. Grâce à ses succès contre les Turcs, Adolphe est fait comte d’Empire en 1598 par Rodolphe II. Mais c’est Johann Adolf (1615-1683) qui place sa Maison au premier rang de l’aristocratie, lorsqu’il est fait prince en 1670. Il passe pour le plus riche seigneur au service de l’empereur. À partir de 1660, il détient de vastes seigneuries en Bohême. |

| Summary, etc. | Originating from Franconia, the Schwarzenbergs had a growing role during the sixteenth century serving many princes in Empire and the Habsburgs. Thanks to his successes against the Turks, Adolf was made by Rudolf II count of Empire in 1598. Nevertheless, it came to Johann Adolf (1615-1683) to bring his family at the first rank of aristocracy when he was elevated at princely status in 1670. He was held to be the richest lord serving the emperor. From 1670 onwards, he owned very large seignorial estates in Bohemia. |
