| Summary, etc. | Cet article traite d’un phénomène récent et relativement peu étudié : la communication intercommunale. Consécutive à la montée en puissance des établissements publics de coopération intercommunale (notamment les communautés de communes, les districts et les communautés urbaines), cette nouvelle forme de communication locale a pris le relais de la communication des collectivités territoriales (villes, département, régions), au moment où celle-ci commençait à se stabiliser. L’originalité de l’approche consiste à envisager la communication comme un indicateur, un « prisme », permettant d’analyser la dynamique intercommunale et de rendre compte des logiques qui travaillent le système local depuis le début des années 90, qu’il s’agisse de la recomposition du territoire, du rapport à la politique ou de la dynamique institutionnelle. Dans une double optique constructiviste et psychosociologique, les auteurs supposent que la réalité est une construction qui s’élabore à travers des représentations sociales, véhiculées entre autres par la communication. Retenue dans le cadre d’une recherche sur plusieurs sites, cette problématique éclaire les enjeux et les ambiguïtés des formes de médiation intercommunale, tout en soulignant les spécificités de cette communication. |

| Summary, etc. | Intercommunity cooperation and communicationThis article deals with a rather unanalysed phenomenon : intercommunity communication organised by public establishement. This new kind of heal communication has succeeded to territorial community communication, when it was becoming stable. The originality of our approach is to treat communication as an indicator of intercommunity logics which exists in the local system since the beginning of the 90’s. Using constructivist and psychosociohgical theories, the authors suppose that reality is a construction elaborated through social representations, particularly conveyed by communication. This hypothesis has been guiding the research, made on différents places. It explains the goals and the ambiguities of the différents forms ofintercommunal mediation, and it emphazises the specificities of this communication. |
