| Summary, etc. | Application éducative d’une doctrine sociale reposant sur l’éloge de l’initiative privée, l’École des Roches correspond au projet posé par Edmond Demolins de former de nouvelles élites pour la France quand le modèle anglo-saxon s’imposait au tournant des XIXe et XXe siècles. Ces nouvelles élites, autres que celles formées par l’État, avaient pour rôle de contribuer à sa puissance économique et financière dans un contexte de rivalité impérialiste avec la Grande-Bretagne. Qu’en est-il en ce début du XXIe siècle ? Le modèle initié par le fondateur est-il encore porteur d’une dynamique ? |

| Summary, etc. | L’École des Roches is an educational application of a social doctrine based on the merit of private initiative which fitted the project of its founder Edmond Demolins to form new elites for France at a period when the Anglo Saxon schools stood out as a model in late 19th Century and early 20th Century. These new elites, different from the state own-shaped elites, were aimed at contributing towards its economic and financial power in a context of imperialist rivalry between France and Great Britain. How have things been evolving at the dawn of the 21th Century ? Is the model initiated by the founder still carrying motive forces ? |
