520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Contemporary art, derision and sociologyAppeared with modem art, derision is part of contemporary art. It can take three forms : the mockery of the artists transgressing the common sense aesthetic values ; the critic of the viewers reacting by mocking the works or pretending they are but hoaxes ; ant the subversion of the works when integrated into the boundaries of art in the name of contestation. What is at stake for the sociologist is not to adopt any of those interpretations, in order to avoid being taken in the very game he has to analyse. |
