| Summary, etc. | En 1999, une caricature évoquant le financement occulte du parti communiste italien (PCI) par le KGB a provoqué un conflit entre le premier ministre M. D’Alema et G. Forattini, le dessinateur de presse. Cette affaire est analysée ici comme révélatrice des changements actuels dans la société italienne. Le débat entraîné par cette caricature publiée dans le quotidien romain la Repubblica montre l’influence politique de ce genre de satire, différente de formes plus inoffensives de dérision. Cette âpre controverse permet également de mettre en lumière un aspect essentiel du métier politique actuellement et tacitement exigé de la part des leaders, à savoir l’auto-ironie. Dans ce contexte, M. D’Alema, qui est issu de l’ancien système de partis, était en porte-à-faux. |

| Summary, etc. | Press cartoons in court of justice : teachings of the d’Alema /Forattini’s quarrelIn 1999, a caricature evoking Italian Comunist Party (PCI) secret fundings from KGB provoked a conflict between Prime Minister M. D’Alema and G. Forattini, the caricaturist. This affair is here analysed as a symptom of current changes within Italian society. The debate involved by this caricature published in the daily newspaper la Repubblica (Rome) shows the political impact of this kind of satire, far from more inoffensive mockery. This harsh controversy also allows to enlighten one essential aspect of currently and tacitly required know-how among politicians, namely auto-irony. In this context, M. D’Alema coming from a former party system was in an unstable position. |
