| Summary, etc. | Caractérisé par son immensité océanique et un vide humain, le Pacifique sera demain un enjeu stratégique pour les grandes puissances riveraines et pour la France. Les Etats Unis d’Amérique y exercent une suprématie militaire incontestable, la IIIe et la VIIe flotte américaine étant localisées sur les façades continentales de l’Océanie.La zone Asie-Pacifique est celle qui génère le plus de richesses et concentre l’essentiel des tensions militaires actuelles. Les ambitions chinoises y visent à contrôler la mer de Chine méridionale et à contrecarrer la puissances américaine. Selon les stratèges chinois, la Chine, par sa nouvelle politique navale, devrait pouvoir contrôler les régions océaniques d’Asie orientale d’ici 2020. L’Asie-Pacifique apparaît ainsi comme un enjeux géo-stratégique considérable si on considère les questions suivantes : le contrôle de la mer de Chine méridionale où passe l’essentiel du commerce ; la question de Taiwan s’y posera immanquablement ; quel sera le rôle du japon en cas de conflit ?La France à partir de la Polynésie française et de la Nouvelle-Calédonie, doit désormais se positionner par rapport à ces enjeux et a vocation à jouer un rôle d’autant plus majeur que sa présence y est mieux accepté depuis la fin des essais nucléaires. |

The Chinese aim at controlling the meridional Chinese sea. The geo-strategic issues in this area tomorrow will be ; the control of the meridional chine sea where most of the commercial exchanges takes place ; the issue of Taïwan ; what will be japon’s attitude in the case of conflict ?France from the islands of French Polynesia and New Caledonia should have a strategy as far as these issues at stake are concern. This is easier today as its presence is well accepted since the end of the nuclear tests. |
