| Summary, etc. | La journée d’étude a montré, selon une approche locale et régionale et selon la spécificité de quelques ordres, que les religieux étaient de grands propriétaires fonciers et des protagonistes actifs des mutations urbaines à l’époque moderne. Deux orientations complémentaires ont été proposées : de pouvoir comparer le patrimoine avec d’autres groupes sociaux et les échanges possibles mais aussi d’aller vers une emprise spatiale plus petite, celle de la rue avec une histoire des odeurs et des sonorités pour cerner l’insertion des religieux dans une cité. Entre la rente et la mission, les ordres ne surent pourtant pas toujours choisir ou faire comprendre leurs objectifs spécifiques et ils furent finalement particulièrement frappés par les décisions révolutionnaires. |

Two complementary orientations were proposed: to be able to compare the holdings with other social groups and the possible exchanges but also to go towards a smaller spatial influence, that of the street with a history of the smells and the tones to encircle the insertion of the members of a religious order in a city. Between the pension and the mission, the orders did not know how to choose nevertheless always or make understand their specific objectives and they were finally particularly struck by the revolutionary decisions. |
