| Summary, etc. | L’architecture est le premier des arts, mais nous ne pouvons l’y confiner exclusivement car elle se distingue des autres arts essentiellement par ses paradigmes pluridisciplinaires, son gigantisme, sa fonctionnalité et d’autres facteurs scientifiques que l’architecte Louis Kahn appelle « ordres ». Par sa symbolique, son iconicité et la communication qu’elle induit, l’architecture s’est retrouvée au cœur de la globalisation, voire même au carrefour des conflits des civilisations. Elle est devenue un pourvoyeur d’images mondialisées et un transmetteur de messages interculturels et, par ce fait, elle ne peut plus être tributaire uniquement de la simple impulsion créative ou de l’ego des « archistars » internationaux. D’où le besoin de régulation, de remise en question permanente et de questionnements autour de problématiques pluridisciplinaires que seule la recherche scientifique peut apporter. Pour ce qui est de l’intégration de cette discipline dans le cadre du système LMD, la non-communication empêche le rapprochement des concepts entre la rigidité des « gestionnaires des systèmes » et les hantises des responsables de l’enseignement artistique. |

| Summary, etc. | Architecture, an art that encompasses scienceAlthough it is the first of the arts, architecture cannot be confined to art alone, because it differs from all other arts essentially in its multidisciplinary paradigms, its vast scale, its functionality and other scientific factors that the architect Louis Kahn refers to as “orders”. Because of its symbolic and iconic value and the communication it prompts, architecture has become a central feature of globalisation and even a focus of clashes between civilisations. It has become a vehicle for globalised imagery and intercultural messages and because of this, it can no longer be purely a function of the creative impulse or of the ego of international “starchitects”. Hence the need for regulation, for constant reappraisals and for investigations into multidisciplinary issues that only scholarly research can address. As regards the integration of architecture into the bachelor-master-doctorate system, this is hampered by the absence of communication between rigid managerial systems and the fears of those responsible for arts teaching. |
