| Summary, etc. | Myopathies are rare causes of abnormal liver function tests. Muscular cytolysis, responsible for increase of transaminases predominant on AST, has to be recognized to avoid unnecessary investigations. The abnormalities might also be related to broader spectrum of diseases associating liver and muscular injuries such mitochondrial cytopathy or some metabolic diseases. Therefore, the hepato-gastroenterologist should always consider these extra-hepatic diseases when facing the problem of unexplained raise of transaminases for accurate diagnosis and treatment. |

| Summary, etc. | Les myopathies sont une cause rare de perturbations du bilan hépatique. Il peut s’agir d’une élévation des transaminases d’origine musculaire à différentier d’une atteinte hépatique qu’il faut reconnaitre pour éviter les explorations inutiles. Les perturbations peuvent aussi s’inscrire dans un cadre plus large où les atteintes hépatiques et musculaires ne sont que les symptômes d’une maladie sous-jacente, comme c’est le cas des cytopathies mitochondriales ou des maladies métaboliques. L’hépato-gastroentérologue doit connaître ces affections pour évoquer le diagnostic devant un bilan de cytolyse inexpliquée et orienter le malade vers une prise en charge spécialisée. |
