| Summary, etc. | Aux attentats qui frappent régulièrement la France depuis 2012, répondent des lois successives, jusqu’à l’état d’urgence que le gouvernement a souhaité inscrire dans une loi constitutionnelle, resserrant de facto le champ des libertés individuelles et publiques comme prix de la sécurité nationale. En dépit de ces mesures, des discours martiaux et du soutien politique infaillible aux services de renseignement, la politique de sécurité ne parvient pas à enrayer le triple phénomène que représentent la « radicalisation », le départ de jeunes en Syrie et la commission d’attentats sur le territoire. En dépit de son inefficacité assumée, les sondages de population restent favorables à cette politique. Dans cet article, nous mettons en évidence ce phénomène que nous qualifions de paradoxe orwellien. |

| Summary, etc. | The attacks that have regularly hit France since 2012 have been met with successive laws, culminating in the state of emergency that the government has been seeking to write into constitutional law and which would, de facto, narrow the field of individual and public liberties as the price to pay for national security. Despite these measures, their accompanying warmongering messages and the infallible political support for intelligence agencies, the security policy has not succeeded in curbing the triple phenomenon of “radicalisation”, young people’s departures for Syria and terrorist attacks within France. And despite its alleged ineffectiveness, public opinion polls have remained favourable to this policy. This article discusses this situation as an Orwellian paradox. |
