520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | “Subveillance” is a neologism that basically means “watching the watchers” : whether the watchers are visible to the public (police, security cameras), whether they are part of our social networks (web platforms) or whether they are the legislators of formal social control. In this article, we discuss subveillance as a form of everyday intelligence gathering – in the sense that it can be done by everyone – but also as an expression of citizenship, since its aim is to strike a balance between surveillance “from above” and surveillance “from below”. |
