Partout on a développé des stratégies pour essayer de mener à bien la reproduction sociale des familles. Le système successoral n’est pas responsable de l’émiettement du patrimoine, car les familles savent mettre en œuvre quantité de moyens pour palier durablement les inconvénients du système égalitaire. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper analyses the architecture of the various hereditary systems existing in Spain, in areas in which customary law prevailed as well as in the region under the jurisdiction of Castillan laws. Strategies were developed everywhere to try and achieve the reproduction of the social status of the family. Inheritance systems cannot be held responsible for the fragmentation of patrimonies, since families could choose from a wide array of tools with which to correct the flaws of an equalitarian distribution system. |
