| Summary, etc. | Only 132 positions in 2021 and 138 in 2022 have been created in Hepato-Gastroenterology, despite the fact that this speciality take care for almost 5 million French people every year. This specialty is attractive because of its great diversity. Hepato-Gastroenterology also has a high technical component (interventional endoscopy, proctology). Since 2018, the assessment procedures for knowledge and skills validating the specialized study diploma have been published in the Official Journal consisting in 3 phases: foundation, in-depth and consolidation phases.The Official Journal requires the specialized study diploma syllabus to include a certain number of endoscopic examinations and practical procedures in proctology and hepatology. A short questionnaire was sent out in November 2021 to all hepato-gastroenterology students in France via their representatives on the directory of the French Association of Residents in Hepato-Gastroenterology. The majority of the 86 residents who responded to this survey did not achieve these objectives. These findings suggest that the training given to residents and the training sites should be improved to enable them to achieve their objectives. |

| Summary, etc. | Seulement 132 postes en 2021 et 138 en 2022 ont été ouverts en hépato-gastroentérologie qui prend pourtant en charge près de 5 millions de Français par an. Cette spécialité est attractive en raison de sa grande diversité. Elle comporte également une forte part technique (endoscopie interventionnelle, proctologie). Depuis 2018, les modalités d’évaluation des connaissances et des compétences validant le Diplôme d’Études Spécialisées (DES) sont inscrites au Journal Officiel en trois phases : la phase socle, la phase d’approfondissement et la phase de consolidation.Le Journal Officiel exige dans la maquette du DES la réalisation d’un certain nombre d’examens endoscopiques et de gestes pratiques en proctologie et en hépatologie. Un court questionnaire a été adressé en novembre 2021 à l’ensemble des étudiants d’hépato-gastro-entérologie en France via leurs représentants inscrits sur le répertoire de l’Association Française des Internes d’Hépato-Gastro-Entérologie. La majorité des 86 internes ayant répondu à cette enquête, n’atteignaient pas ces objectifs. Ces constatations incitent à faire évoluer la formation des internes et les terrains de stage pour leur permettre de valider leurs objectifs. |
