| Summary, etc. | Les définitions de la communication politique appliquées au Togo ne concordent pas avec les réalités qu’on y lit. Périodique, elle se résumerait plus à une simple propagande électorale qu’à un processus basé sur une stratégie de communication. Au Togo, on ne communique pas réellement pour gagner une élection, on communique pour répondre à la norme conventionnelle de faire campagne avant une élection. La notion « d’incommunication » de D. Wolton s’invite ici, pas dans le sens de la l’incompréhension et de la cacophonie, mais plus dans le sens de l’absence de communication et surtout du refus de communiquer de la part des autorités politiques togolaises. Cette situation prend sa source dans la réalité démocratique et engendre une non-professionnalisation du métier de communicant politique. |

In Togo, political communication is not really about winning an election, it’s more about electoral propaganda than a process based on a communication strategy. In Togo, we don’t really communicate to win an election, we communicate to meet the conventional norm of campaigning before an election. D. Wolton’s notion of “incommunication” comes into play here, not in the sense of incomprehension and cacophony, but more in the sense of the absence of communication and above all the refusal to communicate on the part of Togo’s political authorities.
