| Summary, etc. | This article looks back at the major economic crisis that hit Iceland in 2008 when the country’s three main private banks went bankrupt. While the crisis revealed major weaknesses and flaws in the Icelandic economic model at the time, it also showed that Iceland’s political model – a parliamentary democracy in which alliances play a key role – enabled the country to overcome the crisis and recreate a political union that had been undermined for some time. |

| Summary, etc. | L’article revient sur la crise économique majeure qu’a connue l’Islande en 2008 lorsque les trois principales banques privées du pays ont fait faillite. Si cette crise a fait apparaître d’importantes faiblesses et failles dans le modèle économique islandais de l’époque, elle a en revanche montré que le modèle politique de l’Islande – une démocratie parlementaire dans laquelle les alliances jouent un rôle primordial – lui a permis de surmonter cette crise et de recréer une union politique un temps mise à mal. |
