Summary, etc. Commensality sacrifices are one of the fundamental elements in the construction of civic Greek identities in Archaic and Classical periods. Commensality feasts materialize, recreate and define the abstract fluxes of social power within the civic community and the ideal relationship established between the divine sphere and the human group. In this article I will study the way civic sacrifice is redefined in the concrete context of the Athenian post-civil war crisis. This process reflexes the deep political transformation lived within Athens regarding the latest years of the Peloponnesian War and the emergence of the radical democracy. It will be seen how civic sacrifices have a core role in the collective resilience concerning the traumatic experience of the civil war and the acceptance of the new structure of social power in the restored democracy.
