Summary, etc. |

Summary, etc. | The other side of the mirror. The hidden side of the complex The Jungian idea of the Double rests on the notion of complex which originates from the psyche’s ability to dissociate itself to shape and form its many unconscious aspects. The Double, far from being a representation of the same, must be understood as a constitutive part of the unconscious personality which will need to be acknowledged in order for the Ego’s unity to be built : the persona, identification with the collective, and the shadow, figure of the alarming or fascinating unknown, are the two modes of psychic duality, a characteristic in Jungian thought. The specific conception of transference amplifies the idea of transforming into a Double, that is to say two unconscious, the patient’s as much as the analyst’s. |
