Cet article met à l’épreuve ces assertions en les appliquant aux relations des jeunes avec les armées. Il passe en revue les arguments relatifs au déclin des armées sur le territoire, à la nostalgie du service militaire. Il s’interroge sur les valeurs des jeunes telles qu’elles apparaissent dans une récente étude, en éclaire l’évolution et constate que ces dernières n’ont pas changé dans un sens absolument étranger à celles en vigueur dans l’institution militaire. |

| Summary, etc. | The place occupied in public consciousness by the armed forces is declining, leading to the risk of soldiers being isolated in a world with postmodern values. This article puts these assertions to the test by applying them to young people’s relationships with the military. It reviews the arguments relating to the decline of armed forces in France and to nostalgia for military service. It asks about the values of young people as shown by a recent study, highlights developments and notes that the changes in those values are not totally different from those at work in the military itself. |
