| Summary, etc. | Le colonel Frédéric Gout livre un témoignage sur sa vision de son expérience d’un temps de commandement d’une unité opérationnelle de l’armée de terre, le 5e régiment d’hélicoptères de combat. Il explique notamment que le rôle du chef de corps s’inscrit avant tout dans le temps long et que ses décisions doivent tenir compte d’un contexte, du passé, sans jamais obérer l’avenir. Trois domaines sont plus particulièrement prégnants : la préparation opérationnelle et les opérations, le rayonnement de son unité y compris au sein de la cité et la prise en compte de tous les aspects humains des plus graves aux plus heureux. Cet article décrit chacun de ces aspects en tentant d’en tirer quelques conclusions pour l’héritage confié par un chef de corps à son successeur. |

| Summary, etc. | Colonel Frédéric Gout gives his vision of his experience of a time for which he was in command of an operational unit of the French Army, the 5th Regiment of Combat Helicopters. He explains, in particular, that the role of the commander slots into a long time frame and that his decisions need to take account of a context, of the past, and without ever threatening the future. Three areas are particularly important : operational preparation and operations ; the influence of his unit including among the “city” at large ; and taking account of all human aspects from the most serious to the happiest. This article describes each of these aspects while attempting to draw some conclusions for the heritage left by a commander to his successor. |
