Summary, etc. | Philosophe, Diderot n’est pas un économiste, mais de nombreuses notations, éparses dans son œuvre, permettent cependant de le situer à l’égard des grands courants de son époque. Le Prospectus ou le Discours préliminaire de l’Encyclopédie situent l’économie dans l’arbre des connaissances. Branche de la philosophie et relevant de la morale, l’économie concerne, quant à son champ, le gouvernement des personnes comme l’administration des biens. Comme la biologie, elle utilise une méthode expérimentale enchaînant observation, hypothèse, vérification. Dans le combat politique qui est le sien, Diderot assigne à l’économie et au « Despote éclairé » des objectifs précis concernant de nombreux domaines (agriculture, fiscalité, commerce, marchés, éducation justice...). |

The Prospectus as the Opening speech of Encyclopaedia locate economy into the knowlege tree.
