Summary, etc. | RésuméAvant l’ère du rail la majorité les transports « industriels » s’effectuent par le biais de la voie d’eau et notamment des canaux. Ces voies navigables artificielles sont le fruit d’une longue tradition technique française. Le bassin stéphano-ripagérien n’échappe pas à cette logique, les projets naissants au sein de cet espace industriel sont pour la plupart influencés par cette culture technique. Comment un espace tel que celui-ci, berceau du rail français, a-t-il adopté une innovation anglaise qui remet totalement en cause la culture technique française ? Le début du 19e siècle marque, en France, le début de l’industrialisation et donc de l’influence technique anglaise sur le continent. Malgré cet état de fait il faudra toute la persévérance et la compétence des ingénieurs des Mines pour mener à bien ce transfert de technologie.JEL : N73, O31 |

Summary, etc. | Before the era of the rail the majority “industrial” transport is carried out by the means of the water way and in particular of the channels. These navigable artificial waterways are the fruit of a French technical long tradition. The basin stéphano-ripagérien does not escape this logic, the projects incipient within this industrial space for the majority are influenced by this technical culture. How a space such as this one, cradle of the French rail, did adopt an English innovation which completely calls into question the French technical culture? The beginning of the 19th century marks, in France, the beginning of industrialisation and thus of the English technical influence on the continent. In spite of this irrefutable fact one will need all the perseverance and the competence of the mining engineers to conclude this technology transfer.JEL: N73, O31 |
