| Summary, etc. | Obstetrical techniques have made a huge advance in the last twenty years with important impact on parent’s and professional’s perceptions of the fetus. In this article, we analyze how these advances are changing parenthood: how parents used pictures of fetal ultrasound in their parenthood construction in general and when suspected anomaly arise. Besides, some mothers put these ultrasound pictures of their fetus in the Internet network. We analyze the link between this phenomenon and familial and social isolation of these mothers. In conclusion, obstetrical follow up is very tight medically, but parents are paradoxically alone with emotional management all these fetal pictures. They try to integrate them in their parenthood construction, but when a suspected anomaly arises, or when they have personal fragility, this work could be difficult. We could make the hypothesis that some of them put these fetal ultrasound pictures on Internet Network to obtain help of the Internet community for this work, but this phenomenon should be explore by more wide studies. |
